Subtle yet memorable, tailored but not stiff, elegant but not decadent (at least not all the time) – today we’re sharing our favourite projects from Yabu Pushelberg, the masters of classic modern design. Founded in 1980 by George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, the New York firm designs all types of interiors, from private homes, to high-end retail stores, bars, restaurants, design showrooms and large-scale hotels, as well as furniture and decorative objects. The first thing that comes to mind when looking at the work of Yabu Pushelberg is scale. No matter the proportions, the design team always find a clever way to maximise space – whether it’s repeated archways to give depth, columns to maximise height or framing to lead the eye and accentuate focal points. Spaces are orderly and take stylistic cues from the Art Deco era, with a symmetric and geometric approach to space planning, materiality and furnishings. Palettes are often soothingly neutral, characterised by layers of serene textures and natural stones and timbers. Luxuriously elegant, Yabu Pushelberg lead the pack when it comes to crisp and polished luxury interiors. But that’s enough talking. It’s time for the drool-worthy scroll fest of some of our favourite projects by the clever duo. You’re totes welcome. Brickell House. Brickell House. Brickell House. Brickell House.
