Yellowtrace 7th Birthday: Win A Featherston Original Armchair!

Dearest Yellowtracers,

Wowee! Can you believe that Yellowtrace is 7 years old? (Our official birthday is tomorrow – December 1st). There are days when I still can’t believe a little passion project could snowball into the site that you see here today… I’m immensely proud of the community we’ve built over the years, the friends we’ve made, the clients we are lucky to work with, and the extraordinary talent we are fortunate to be able feature and celebrate. Above all, I’m forever grateful to you – our amazing readers – for continuing to help us in growing this little beast and allowing us to do what we love – being the advocates and tireless scouts for the finest interiors, architecture, events, design-related travel and more, both in Australia and around the globe.

2016 has been another busy year. Once again we did a fair bit of travel, and delivered the epicness that is MILANTRACE Edizione 2016 – a comprehensive digital report & video series dedicated to Salone Del Mobile & Milan Design Week. In parallel to our digital report, we set off on a national speaking tour which brought Milan Design Week to nearly 1,500 designers, architects and design enthusiasts in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. (In case you missed it, you can access the full recorded talk here).

You may have noticed that we’ve stepped up our coverage of Australian Design & Architecture during 2016. Our local design scene is thriving, with so many incredible projects, products, designers and architects producing sensational work, which not only measures up to the rest of the world – but more importantly – it stands firmly and proudly on it’s own two feet. Right now is a super exciting time to be an interior designer or an architect in Australia, which makes our job even more special.

In keeping with this sentiment, we are celebrating our 7th birthday by giving away a piece of truly iconic Australian Design to one lucky Yellowtracer living in Australia. We are asking you to complete our reader survey, and by doing so, be in the running to win a Featherston Scape Armchair in select finishes, courtesy of Grazia & Co. How awesome is that? I KNOW!!!

You may recall that we featured the relaunch of the Featherston 2016 collection earlier this year. Much like the rest of the local design community, Team Yellowtrace rejoiced at the announcement that the iconic designs by one of Australia’s most memorable furniture designers were being relaunched.

We feel super proud to be partnering with the wonderful team at Grazia & Co to bring you this very special prize. I personally chose the Scape Armchair (designed in 1960) as this year’s prize for a number of reasons. Not only is this my favourite piece from the collection and the one I am myself coveting, I feel that the Scape Armchair and the Featherston 2016 collection as a whole was one of the most significant local product launches in 2016, and a wonderful celebration of Australian Design’s past and it’s future – something we are also extremely passionate about at Yellowtrace. For this reason, I simply couldn’t think of a more fitting prize, and I hope you will agree.

You have between today and 15th January 2016 to enter the giveaway. The winner will be announced in late January 2016. Please refer to our full terms & conditions page for everything you need to know about this giveaway. Thank you again and GOOD LUCK!

Love always,
Mama Yellowtrace xx

P.S. When Yellowtrace turned one, two, threefourfive & six.
