In a cool departure from conventional office interiors, Waterfrom Design has transformed Vacanza Accessory’s workspace in the Taiwan capital into a meandering journey that challenges traditional notions of corporate environments. The 476-square-metre office space embodies the accessory brand’s philosophy that “putting on jewellery makes life a holiday”—an ethos cleverly translated into architectural language through winding pathways and unique approach to spatial planning. The design team’s decision to abandon conventional point-to-point office layouts in favour of non-directional pathways creates an element of exploration within the daily work routine. The space features a striking 45-degree angular arrangement that not only solves practical challenges with Western sun exposure but introduces a fresh perspective on movement and interaction. Sure, you might get lost on your way to the water cooler, but who cares!?Thoughtful Design, Strong Partnerships and a Willingness to Experiment Converge in this Game-Changing Sydney Office.Rochester Street Office is the poster child for collaborative design and innovative thinking, setting a new standard for workplace architecture in repurposed industrial areas. At the entrance, where harsh afternoon sun posed a challenge, the designers introduced high-backed seating units that double as sculptural elements and sun shields. These modular pieces create a dynamic transitional space that replaces the typical reception desk setup, offering both functionality and visual interest. At the office’s core is the product development department and director’s office, connected by a droplet-shaped curved wall that defines boundaries while maintaining visual flow. Here, a uniquely designed workbench features recessed areas and angled edges that accommodate various seating arrangements, dissolving traditional hierarchical barriers. The material palette is refreshingly honest—dyed plywood, galvanized steel panels, and coloured carpet tiles are employed in their near-raw state. These materials interact with natural light throughout the day, creating an ever-changing atmosphere that makes the space feel dynamic.Lab-Inspired Office for a High-Tech Gas Company in Taoyuan, Taiwan by Waterfrom Design.Referencing lab items like test tubes, gas pipes and steel cylinders, Waterfrom have modelled an office that looks more like a lab production chain than your usual workplace. Striking colour combinations define different zones while stimulating creativity. A translucent yellow PVC curtain offers dramatic light play, while indigo-stained birch plywood adds depth and contrast. These bold choices are balanced by subtle grey-green and pastel blue tones in the ceiling and flooring, creating a sophisticated colour journey through the space. The result is an office that feels more like a journey, where even a simple walk to the breakout room becomes an opportunity for discovery. As long as you don’t get lost on the way… Utltimately, what this interior proves is that workplace design can be both practical and poetic, efficient and explorative.Three Minimalist Office Spaces That Are Anything But Boring.Although culturally worlds apart, these three office spaces—from New York, Athens and Shanghai—find level ground following the cohesive design language of minimalism.
