VSHD Design’s latest is a residential project of resort proportions. Located in Dubai’s beachfront neighbourhood of Jumeriah, the home, built around a pool, looks to balance the dual lifestyles of living and working simultaneously, all within a strikingly minimalist frame. Natural materials, earthy colours, and large arched windows create an interplay of light and shadow within.Designed as a multifunctional space, the house unfolds across a garden, with a pool nestled between the two structures. The result is a resort-like bungalow, an escape for a family akin to a classical villa, aligned with the family’s desire for relaxation, work, and entertainment away from their primary residence. The concept of Alcoves, or separate villas, is central to the design philosophy. Each building has its own narrow walkway, lush with greenery, leading to a direct entrance from the street—mimicking a beach retreat.Orijins Coffee Shop Dubai by VSHD Design. In this coffee shop, uncomplicated forms and rich textures are found in a subdued palette of muted plaster and opaque creamy hues... The home’s one-level construction is a reference to the heritage houses found dotted along Jumeirah beach where Emirati fisherman have lived for a long time. The first block, housing a living and dining room, offers a vision of domestic life, entertainment, and work all under one roof. A long corridor connects the spaces with a skylight and a long row of seamless doors for storage. The second block, accentuated by floor-to-ceiling arched windows, houses a gym and multipurpose room, catering to the family’s active pursuits. The architectural lines and forms give way to light that floods each space, evoking an interplay of light and shadow onto the home’s clean and minimalist design. In this tranquil retreat, VSHD Design seamlessly blend natural surroundings to meet the evolving needs and desires of a modern family.
