Lauren Manoogian’s creation of Spring Summer 2021 presented fresh energy for exploration and experimentation. Building the line was together adaptive, reflective, and firsthand. While collaborating with the dedicated Peru team was remote, development in the Brooklyn studio was immersive and tactile.A complement to Manoogian’s collection is a custom 9-piece capsule of sculptures created by Portland-based American artist Vince Skelly, released as a continuation of OBJECT alongside mainline in early-2021.The connection between both designers is both aesthetic and philosophical. “Letting design find itself” is a process found in their respective mediums of textiles and wood, with each responding to material and fibre to dictate concept and design. Honouring the unique attributes of natural colours and fibres, Manoogian designs expand from these details through an architectural lens, valuing the time cycle of renewal while honouring the beauty in nature that we cannot control. Skelly connects past, present, and future in his work, drawing relationships between ancient forms and contemporary architecture and furniture. With his work being ‘carved from a single block’, Skelly believes there is an amorphous relationship between the contemporary and the prehistoric, giving him a vast array of unified objects he desires to sculpt. For more information visit laurenmanoogian.com and vinceskelly.com [Photography by Andrés Altamirano.] Share the love:FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPinterest Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Δ
