Victoria-Maria Unveils the Heimat Furniture Collection.

With her signature touch of joyful surrealism, German-born, Brussels-based interior designer Victoria-Maria debuts her first furniture collection, Heimat. The self-proclaimed Europhile has named the collection symbolising “the motherland, family and what we love and miss when we are far from it, not only people, but also objects and things and by extension… furniture!”

Given complete freedom, Victoria-Maria let her imagination run wild with the new line that is composed of 13 pieces. The collection is sensual and playful thanks to its rich materials and round, voluptuous pieces. The Diane echoes Marie-Antoinette’s headdresses, while the Aimée bench is like a very sweet two-legged creature. The Clarence, Penelope and Wensceslas sofas all include beautiful prints with elegant silhouettes and feminine, timeless designs. Like her interiors, the pieces are warm and graphic with a touch of joyful surrealism.

For Victoria-Maria, her favourite lies with the Roger table. It’s a design that certainly makes you look twice. “I just find it crazy how it can balance like that!” Victoria-Maria elaborates, and we tend to agree.

Most of the time, these pieces of furniture were first thought of for private projects but the designer has enjoyed the process so much she would like to see them in her clients’ homes and beyond.
