During Milan Design Week 2021, Very Simple Kitchen presented an exclusive collaboration with Swedish interior designer Tekla Evelina Severin. Unveiled at the new Design Republic space on Via Della Chiusa, Very Simple Teklan Edition was inspired by the exchange of cultures that reflects on the history of Italian and Swedish architecture, resulting in two handcrafted products.

The starting points for both kitchen models were the marble worktops, the first characterised by a striking combination of white Carrara and black Marquina marble, arranged vertically to create a uniquely striped effect recalling Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

To balance out these traditionally Italian elements, Tekla opted for a mustard yellow finish for the kitchen modules, a typical shade of Swedish architecture chosen to soften their severity and create a warm and welcoming environment.

Starting from Tekla’s suggestion, the second kitchen model is defined by a sophisticated combination of Portuguese pink and Levanto red marble — a second reference to Italian artistic tradition.

With a focus on sustainability, Very Simple Kitchen employed master craftsmen to upcycle waste marble for both kitchens. Despite its second life, the material retains its full character and luxurious appearance.

Meanwhile, the kitchen cabinets are made from the same high-quality stainless steel that defines all Very Simple Kitchen products. The result is a timeless collection vibrant in both concept and colour.
