Uchronia has designed its third outpost for Café Nuances. Located this time on rue de la Tremoille, in the 8th arrondissement, the space age interior once again turns the idea of a coffee shop on its head. With saturated colours, stainless steel and a reflective ceiling, like its predecessors, the store propels visitors from the street into the space through its exaggerated perspective. The new address follows the codes present in the second shop, accentuating the brand’s colourful, retro-futuristic universe while an immaculate white façade contrasts with the interior. The colours of the gradations were inspired by the recent travels of Uchronia’s founder, Julien Sebban. Referencing the sunsets in the Tunisian desert, the space plays out as an ode to the gentleness of summer days. The spectrum on the walls and floor work together to draw the eye to the stainless-steel counter, overlooked by orange lacquered shelves—a signature of the brand’s boutiques. The World of Coffee Reimagined: Café Nuances in Paris by Uchronia.Art Deco is interlaced with unexpected space-age and galactic expressions in this jewel box interior for a coffee roasting house... The studio’s own Bisous stools, first unveiled in the Wave Collection here, take up the curved shapes of the bench, and modulate the space. Thanks to their dual function, they can be used as stools or coffee tables. Finally, unlike its two big sisters, whose interiors feature striated shapes, here the poly mirror tiles are complemented by half-spheres in saturated colours, accentuating the dreamlike feel of the Coffee Shop. They create the illusion of floating balls, which could be mistaken for planets in the sky. The colours and play of light contrast happily with the sober colours of the neighbourhood, like the coffee itself awakening all those who encounter it.Modern Heritage: Blue Bottle Coffee Myeondong by Teo Yang Studio. This unique little coffee shop initiates a dialogue between the city’s rich heritage and modern Korean culture with an ephemeral blue glow...
