Founded in 2013, The Horse specializes in classic, simple leather items and timepieces. The store provides a clean backdrop for the products, utilising natural tones and textures within the compact 34sqm site. The store is situated within a quaint cluster of Sydney Terraces in the beachside, surfer-friendly suburb of Manly on the North Shore. Aligned with both the brand and the local vernacular, nothing is overdone or overly ‘precious’.“We wanted to create an environment with a feeling of warmth and a sense of playfulness through the use of natural textures and warm walnut tones throughout,” says We Are Triibe. The rectangular site has a one street-facing façade with floor to ceiling windows, allowing the space to fill with natural light. The overarching concept for the retail space encompasses a mid-century inspired, organic aesthetic. Bold accents of sunny yellow accentuate a simple palette of timber and grey tones, most notably by way of an eye-catching yellow suede occasional chair.A unique timber and rattan panelled ceiling design is immediately striking and eye-catching as visitors enter. The design provided an opportunity to create unique custom joinery pieces, including a bespoke rendered workbench for a vintage gold foiling machine. A variety of uniquely shaped custom rendered plinths and ceramic pieces celebrate the merchandise they display. Related: St. Agni James Street Boutique In Brisbane By We Are Triibe.
