CDLP Stockholm Store by Specific Generic.

Conceptualised in collaboration with architecture bureau Specific Generic, CDLP Stockholm is a real-life manifestation of the visual language digitally established by the men’s underwear design house—innovative yet understated; eclectic yet progressive; modern yet maximalist with “old world” accents.

Centrally located at Mäster Samuelsgatan 9, industrial elements sit alongside streamlined steel and aluminium fixtures and fittings, and one-off antique rarities magnified by double-facing mirrored walls.

The interior speaks of “theatre”—an ode to the brand narrative built as a platform for revolving custom installations. Windows are unobstructed, allowing ample daylight to pour in. By dusk, a suspended film set-like lighting system illuminates the space.

An early brand identifier, underwear packaged in modular canary yellow books takes centre stage in the library-like retail setting. Integrated LED screens are an integral part of the store for looping brand films—a favourite storytelling channel for artistic director and co-founder Christian Larson.

In contrast to the slick display area, fitting rooms are warm and cosy. A velvet-clad wall in the backroom is shrouded in sumptuous velvet drapes, akin to a speakeasy rather than a retail store.

Specific Generic is an office for architecture and design, founded 2010 by Andreas Bozarth Fornell, with a diverse portfolio and works, but with the main focus within the world of fashion retail.

Established in 2016 by Christian Larson and Andreas Palm who set out to revolutionize men’s underwear, CDLP is a design house of focused, luxury essentials.
