Spatial Bodies is a short film by AUJIK, a collaborative of artists and filmmakers, that merges reality with fantasy. The video shows actual drone footage of the Osaka skyline morphed into a surreal world where clever animation makes buildings twist like vines without regard for gravity. AUJIK explain that a monotonous train ride around Tokyo triggered a spectacular vision of tangled concrete.

“Spatial Bodies depicts the urban landscape and architectural bodies as an autonomous living and self replicating organism. Domesticated and cultivated only by its own nature. A vast concrete vegetation, oscillating between order and chaos.” AUJIK share in their statement about the project.

I don’t know about you, but these buildings look like a lot like transformers ready to take over Japan. Should we be worried?
