Smeg has collaborated with Rebeka Morgan from BuildHer Collective on a kitchen for this Northcote home that blends design distinction with the brand’s unique Italian style. With the project’s essence resting on materiality, selected Smeg products were paired with finishes to stand out distinctly within the home.Elements were carefully chosen to craft a functional and effortless space that becomes the heart of the home. The Taj Mahal benchtop with Crown Cut Walnut Veneer, set upon muted Terrazzo tiles and framed by steel windows alongside a painted recycled brick wall in white, becomes a simple and elegant focal point.Smeg appliances have been strategically placed within the kitchen offering a balance between practicality and impact. “A butler’s pantry was used in this project, as with many young kids, it allows a workspace in the kitchen which is clear and uncluttered, complementing the practical workhorse of the butler’s pantry which houses all the overflowing prep and dishes,” explained Rebeka. With Smeg’s signature Italian design and innovation offering seven cooking technologies in one from traditional, steam and microwave cooking in sequence or simultaneously, timesaving and creativity come easy with features such as indoor grilling with the duo barbecue tray and healthier ‘fried’ food with the air fry tray.
