‘Silver Linings’ Soft Furnishings Collection by Cakebread Studio.

Australian textile designer & artist, Elise Cakebread, of Cakebread Studio has been creating original designs driven by a love of the tactile, the colourful and the frivolous. Extending upon traditional textile techniques, her latest collection ‘Silver Linings’ is a mash-up of colour, texture and innovation. Oversized hand-knits and intricately constructed textile pieces fuse together with fringing, tassels, tufts and ceramic buttons. These are juxtaposed with a luscious range of velvets, silks, and wools – all uniting seamlessly into an aesthetic that is at once playful and sophisticated.

Each piece in the ‘Silver Linings’ collection is made in collaboration with local producers and artisans, then additional touches and handmade flourishes are added in-house at the Cakebread studio.

Silver Linings will be launched at L1 Studios in Melbourne on May 15th 2015.
