Saturday Indesign 2022 Design In Motion Yellowtrace 04

Saturday Indesign returns in just a matter of weeks. Held on May 21st, the design event features a jam-packed program of talks, exhibits, interactive installations and workshops all across the city. An open invitation to designers and design lovers alike, the event offers an opportunity to experience Sydney through a unique lens for a serious dose of inspiration.

Held across four design precincts—Waterloo, Alexandria, Surry Hills and the CBD—the free event will have guests popping into some of the best showrooms like Space Furniture, Stylecraft, Living Edge and Fred International (to name just a few) for a full day of networking, education and exclusive, one-off, experiential activations.

Additionally, a series of speakers will be there delving into a broad range of design-related topics—from William Smart in a conversation on Heritage and Contemporary Design held at Fred International; to Democratising Learning: The Evolution of Education hosted by Stylecraft. Other notable speakers include Mark Raggatt (ARM), Jasmine Williamson (John Wardle), Adam Mundy (Geyer), Karina Simpson (Hot Black), Craig Saltmarsh (Gray Puksand) and Marina Carroll (Architectus).

The ‘Project’ is a hotly anticipated part of every Saturday Indesign, where architects, designers and other creatives in the community work with exhibiting companies and their products to create installations, visual displays and interactive experiences within showroom spaces. This year’s theme is Regeneration, prompting exhibitors, creatives and attendees alike to consider their role in a society that is reawakening, with many of us facing realities of climate destruction, mass wastage, and a lack of true human connection.

Since launching back in 2002, Saturday Indesign has fostered an intimate and curated environment built on genuine connections and lasting relationships. A homecoming of sorts for the event, Saturday Indesign seeks to unite the local industry and provide brands, designers and design lovers with a connection point to discover new products and fresh inspiration.

If you’re looking for a way to reignite your passion for the design industry this is a great way to start, for more information or to register your attendance head to saturdayindesign.com.
