A modern composition of handmade leather and contemporary design, DS-707 by Philippe Malouin for Swiss furniture company De Sede is a modular seating system with endless possibilities.
The flowing, soft transitions combine the postmodern era of Swiss furniture design with the clear, open structures of brutalism – the key source of inspiration for the Canadian-born London-based designer.
Malouin began developing his design by using curved foam sheets. “When you work with a material like foam, you come up with things that you probably never would have found by purely drawing alone,” he says.
Available as a single armchair or as a modular sofa that can be combined in infinite ways, the DS-707 is a celebration of singular visual perfection.
