Karla Vázquez and Caterina Moretti have collaborated on a spectacular series of cabinets. The Mexican architects who run design studios KV and PECA, respectively, have created a collection of unique sculptural pieces. The duo’s process aimed to open an honest dialogue about the objects we keep closest to us.With simple shapes but a clear defining idea, the Aurum Cabinets are all the same height but different dimensions. When placed together, they create a striking sense of cohesion. Made out of sandblasted timber and covered with delicate 23-carat gold leaf, the palette reflects the city they are born out of.
