It’s showtime when Normann Copenhagen open the doors to its new exhibition – the third of its kind in the unique concept showroom, which undergoes a complete metamorphosis every six months. In a remarkable transformation, the showroom’s pillars and arches now open up to a completely bare room, to make space for a spectacular installation: A dazzling sapphire yellow runway, which winds around the 1,700 square metre showroom.

Using the fashion world’s runway show as a source of inspiration, the exhibition “The Runway Issue” presents everything from sofas to cups in creative unity, on a single long podium. VIP-worthy front row seating, a backstage area kept white on white, and details like clothes rails and staff backstage passes, complete the narrative. The scene is set for a runway show in all its glitz, but the typical transience has dissolved. The spectacle has been put on pause, frozen in a moment of time that allows the audience to take a step up and explore the various looks and pieces.

The colour universe du jour is earthy and alluring: soft fawn and gleaming sapphire yellow blend with warm terracotta and deep cocoa in a medley of artsy compositions, 70s glamour and timeless classics. The large hall is like a blank canvas that spotlights the artistic displays on the podium. Accessories and furniture are stacked at precarious heights, or strapped on to oversized foam blocks. A mastodon of a chocolate-coloured velvet sofa and chairs in walnut and bouclé are among the key looks.

The runway stretches all the way down into the downstairs gallery, where one thing is crystal clear: yellow is the new pink. The experimental room, whose previous pink look has been exposed in many an Instagram feed, has transformed into an enticing golden cave. Enter into a treasure chest of lit lamps that shine among fantastic and devouring streams of gold.
