Reopening as a Fora workspace in London’s West End, Henry Wood House has been meticulously refurbished to meet the evolving needs of the creative arts community. Set in the former BBC Research & Development Centre, the comprehensively revamped building, which spans 6,500 sqm across eight floors, received the Nice Projects’ magic touch. The project incorporates flexible workspaces, an on-site wellness studio, a café with an outdoor courtyard, and a roof terrace.

Nice Projects drew inspiration from the best of British interiors and 1960s art. The updated design includes a striking new entrance and restored terrazzo and parquet floors. The ground floor now features an airy café, lush planting, and informal meeting spaces, providing Fora members with a variety of settings to work, recharge, and socialise. Significant upgrades have been made throughout the building, including an increase in on-floor breakout spaces and phone booths, ensuring quiet spaces for focused work.

Located minutes from Oxford Street and Mayfair, Henry Wood House is named after the founding conductor of the annual BBC Proms. The building’s history of innovation continues with new broadcasting businesses, including Jake Humphrey’s High Performance podcast company, now among its first residents.

The refurbishment of Henry Wood House incorporates sustainable practices, retaining the building’s original character while introducing energy-efficient features like double-glazed windows. Nice Projects’ co-founders, Simone McEwan and Sacha Leong emphasised the use of sustainable materials and achieving a low embodied carbon score.

Fora members enjoy advanced tech services, fully stocked kitchens, and a programme of events and wellness facilities across its London network. The industry-leading Member Experience team provides support, while amenities such as shower facilities, cycle storage, and 24/7 access ensure the building meets modern working needs, maximising comfort and productivity.
