For the uninitiated, Spazio Rossana Orlandi comes as a beautiful surprise. Sited in a residential area between Sant’Agostino and Sant’Ambrogio metros, just south-east of the city’s historic centre, the gallery space and mini department store is tucked away on it’s own, away from all the showrooms and boutiques found in Brera.For most of the year Spazio Rossana Orlandi is a calm place to view the interesting collections gathered by Orlandi over the course of each year, but during the week when Salone del Mobile is in full swing, the place is jammed with designers and journalists from all over the world. This year saw the usual mix of virtual unknowns and some of Orlandi’s close friends who show here each year – people like Piet Hein Eek, BCXSY and Thomas Eyck.
