At 57 boulevard Rochechouart sits Citrons et Huîtres, the latest project from Marseille-based interior designer Marion Mailaender. An oyster and seafood bar in Pigalle, the interior is reminiscent of a local fishmonger storefront with a raw steel facade and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the streets of Paris.Past the front door and its bronze oyster-shaped handle, the space is imagined below a vaulted ceiling of close to 5 metres. Mailaender reinterpreted a wave crashing along a sandy beach through a mosaic of pixelated ceramic stoneware.A steel counter with a pearly sheen takes centre stage inside, accompanied by coral stools. The designer and architect drew inspiration from the history of the Pigalle neighbourhood—from local artists, and specifically Pierre-Auguste Renoir, whose last studio was located in the same building at the oyster bar.Rosalie Hotel in Paris by Marion Mailaender. In her latest project, Marion Mailaender looked to build on what already exists in order to implant her work in its authentic context... The result is an underwater effect akin to an aquarium that resonates with the neighbourhood’s artistic history.Defined by old-world glamour, and a Paris of the past, Mailaender herself describes the space as “a statement of the old popular Paris.”Bonnie Bar & Restaurant in Paris by Jordane Arrivetz.Offering a new perspective of Paris with a breathtaking panorama this interior has a space-age edge, with rounded forms and psychedelic accents...
