Local Design x Kozminsky Exhibition. To celebrate 165 years of Kozminsky, the Pedestal for a Pearl Table by Dowel Jones references 19th century furniture of Kozminsky’s founding years. This monochromatic piece for Kozminsky has reflective levels that will never be repeated that display a one of a kind sense of elegance and grandeur. Emma Elizabeth portrait. LOCAL DESIGN’s founder & creative director Emma Elizabeth has worked closely with the passionate team at Kozminsky, arriving to the conclusion that the 165th birthday is something that needed to be celebrated through the theatre and eye of the design world.Kirsten Albrecht, owner of Kozminsky, is a unique connector and advocate for the arts. The fusion of her ethos with Emma’s energy and eye was the perfect unity for this anniversary project. Emma Elizabeth then looked to current leading Australian design pioneers to see who was already working with, or could work within the idea of facets, reflections, jewellery and history. The most unique quality that stood about Kozminsky is they offered their clients a unique product, a rare find, a one off piece that evoked a memory or celebrated a new memory in the making. Each of the selected seven designers – Ross Gardam, Christopher Boots, Tom Fereday, Dowel Jones, Alexander Lotersztain, Alex Fitzpatrick and Emma Elizabeth – worked to create a one off piece that was a reflection on the brand and an extension of their practice.Emma Elizabeth has worked along side the Kozminsky team, to curate, direct and style this vision across print media, installation and event activations. Exhibition runs from November 11th 2016 – January 3rd 2017 2nd Level of Kozminsky, 421 Bourke Street, Melbourne. [Images courtesy of LOCAL DESIGN.
