Stupidly talented Lightning + Kinglyface, aka Anna Fulmine & Victoria Shahrokh, work on self initiated projects and commissions for photography as set designers and prop makers. The dynamic London-based duo has a unique gift for creating extraordinary and evocative imagery, often capturing fluid motion, defying gravity and playing with light in their work.

These girls are top notch in their field, with their work having been commissioned by the likes of Wallpaper*, Bon Magazine, Esquire and more. Their commercial clients include Cartier, Dunhill, Balmain, BAFTA, Nike, Nokia, Selfridges, Sony, Stella McCartney, Swarovski, Tate, Topshop, V & A Museum, Volvo and even Zaha Hadid. Good on you Zaha!

I first became aware of their work when I saw their commission ‘Imagining the Invisible’ by Laboratory Perfumes (above), who challenged them to render the intangible character of scent in solid, three-dimensional form. The resulting images were each inspired by one of the four fragrances in the Laboratory Perfumes range: Amber, Gorse, Samphire and Tonka. Extraordinary!

I personally find these thoughtful and intriguing images incredibly inspiring. In fact, I could just imagine many of them acting as a perfect starting point for conceptualising materials and finishes palettes for interiors project – don’t you think?
