Two creatives in their own right, Javier Reyes and Lillian Hardy have combined forces to form Landdd, a design and creative production studio in Portland. With a new showroom in tow, the duo take a hands-on and research approach to design, shaped by their own connection to practice and from their work with artists in Oaxaca de Juárez and the Pacific Northwest.Landdd offers private commissions for commercial clients and residential interiors alongside seasonal collections of objects, textiles and campaigns centred around narratives derived from their respective cultures.“Our work is entirely research-based—from the streets of Javier’s homeland in the Dominican Republic to the textile work we discover in the backwoods of Alabama or rich dynamism of Oaxaca: sound, colour, culture, history and natures of these regions we are connected to are truly at play here. We try to collect information in photos or objects from each place, which informs the work we make for this project,” Lillian elaborates.Originario Design Store in Mexico City by Andrés Gutiérrez. This Barragán-esque retail store in Mexico City connecting an avant-garde audience with an alternative platform of emerging Mexican makers and producers...
