Edenred's new Workplace in Athens by KN Group

KN Group has designed the new headquarters for Endenred, housed on the second floor of the recently renovated ΙXI office building, in Athens’ Moschato area. Located in a former 840-square-metre industrial space, the open-plan interior featured a grid of sparse circular columns and characteristic linear openings. The designers extrapolated on the existing modernist influence, preserving the clear geometries and linearity and transferring them to the new design.

KN Group looked to achieve optimal lighting and ventilation of the space around the perimeter of the main working areas. The studio delimited the space through green islands and transparent dividers with coloured frames. In the centre of the floor a meeting room is wrapped in modular green walls with folding openings. The folding curtain walls of the central structure can be opened to allow for further office collaboration and a wide range of scenarios.

Model

A large wooden island sits between the raised floor and central space offering a work bench with plenty of storage space. Cabinets and bookcases with geometric shapes, colours and textures create storage areas for living rooms or work benches for employees.

The project utilises high-quality and environmentally friendly materials, including reusing elements of the existing building in accordance with the principles of circular economy to create the smallest possible environmental footprint. Case in point, in the closed offices, the grid of coloured glass partitions are remnants of the previous building’s façade while the stair is taken partly from a wooden beam taken from the adjacent lines of an electric railway and created on-site.

The new office has been designed with a multipurpose function in mind while highlighting a modern perception of the office space.
