After his education at the acclaimed Beckmans College of Design (1998 – 2001), Swedish artist Klas Ernflo moved to Barcelona where he started working as a graphic designer and later as an Art Director for various design and adverting agencies. Since 2008, he has worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Klas’ illustrations are full of fine and sophisticated details. His latest work takes the form of simple, methodical figures on boards resembling modern-day hieroglyphics. These abstract forms focus on the human and the environment, but it’s the juxtaposition of what look to be scientific instruments and wiggly symbols, that add an element of ambiguity and intrigue to his work. The final series of 18 ink and oil paint panels comes together as a magnificent tapestry of shapes and symbols that carefully balance the world of graphic design and craft.Klas Ernflo has worked for clients that include Domus, Dwell, Apartamento, Ikea, Stockholm Fashion Week, Mother London amongst others.
