LENNE Office in Estonia by KAMP Arhitektid Inspired by a Bright Summer Forest.

The new office of LENNE, the Estonian manufacturer of children’s clothing, is situated in the former Soviet-era factory. The 1,100sqm space was once a single empty hall, measuring 8 meters at its highest point. KAMP Arhitektid have inserted a series of angular timber meeting pods, creating an office inspired by a “bright summer forest”.

The whole “landscape” was designed to be multi-levelled, featuring sharp facets. Dotted through the space are a number of relaxation zones for employees. The 5 meter tall trees are made of real tree trunks and artificial branches and leaves (just like this apartment in Paris). A week after the trees were crafted, a real branch with fresh little leaves started growing on one of the trunks, adding to the visitors’ confusion and the authentic appearance of the trees.

Lighting design plays an important role in the space, allowing for various moods and scenarios. Down the corridors, giant 3m tall lights reminiscent of oversized desk lamps, add to the playful nature of the space. Furniture was selected on functional basis and chosen so it didn’t compete with the rooms’ forms and shapes. A little details was added to the joinery, where cupboard knobs were replaced with cut-outs in the shape of children wearing overalls.
