Dearest Yellowtracers, for the next couple of months you shall all be known as Milantracers. Why? Because MILANTRACE is officially back for another year! Say WHAT? For the new kids who may be uninitiated in our annual project, please allow me to elaborate.MILANTRACE Edizione 2016 is the ultimate report covering Salone del Mobile & Milan Design Week, the World’s premier design event, taking place in Milan from 12th to 17th of April. Team Yellowtrace will be on the ground for the entire week, deploying our superhuman ability to source striking and inspiring content, stopping at nothing until we’ve combed the fair and the city on your behalf. We are taking with us our highly tuned lens aimed at uncovering all that is golden. We will be reporting daily on our Instagram feed (follow #MILANTRACE2016 hashtag for Milan-centric goodness). Upon our return, you can expect to see a comprehensive Milan digital report appearing on our dedicated MILANTRACE Edizione 2016 Microsite, featuring original photography and articles, and specially produced behind the scenes videos. In parallel to this, we will deliver a National Speaking Tour which will bring a little bit of Milan to the Australian design community. Yes, you guys, MILANTRACE is a freaking massive and super exciting Milan-centric adventure. It’s incredibly exciting to continue to build on the success of MILANTRACE 2014 and MILANTRACE 2015, both of which brought about world wide attention for Yellowtrace, with some of the best global publications quoting lil ol’ me as a “Milan Design Week expert” etc. Anyway, I don’t really want to brag, because ultimately – who cares – but the reason this is all very exciting is that we are continuing to receive invitations and gain access to more, a bigger and better calibre of Milan goodness, which will ultimately result in better content to share with you guys. Hooray! But enough about me. Let’s talk about our wonderful friends and partners who’s support is making all this possible. This year we are continuing our brilliant partnership with Living Edge and Walter Knoll, who are the Principal and Hosting Partner for MILANTRACE 2016. This partnership enables us to deliver our digital report, as well as the National Talks Series which will take place in the beautiful Living Edge showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & Perth. We would also like to acknowledge the support of our airline partner, Cathay Pacific, who we are flying with this year all the way to Milan (with excellent connections via Hong Kong, can I just say). Cathay have been amazing supporters of what we do, and we couldn’t be any prouder to continue working with them. This year we are also partnering with Lexus who are continuing their significant and growing presence in Milan each year with a number of exciting, high-calibre design initiatives. COME TO THE TALKS! And now for the really exciting part. (Because I was sounding super flat up until this point, wasn’t I?). Today we are releasing a limited amount of early bird tickets for all our talks series. Please click on the relevant links for your respective city to secure your ticket.Sydney: Wednesday, 18 May 2016 Sydney: Thursday, 19 May 2016 Melbourne: Wednesday, 25 May 2016 Melbourne: Thursday, 26 May 2016 Brisbane: Wednesday, 1 June 2016 Perth: Wednesday, 15 June 2016Just so you know, early bird tickets are strictly limited and last year they sold out pretty quickly, so… you know what do to. If you are travelling to Milan yourself, I am putting together our updated Milan Design Week Survival Kit & Our Must-See Milan Itinerary (also relevant for travel to Milan outside of Salone), followed by a Milan Design Week & Salone del Mobile 2016 Preview. OMG. Crazy. Excited!Ciao for now, Milantracers.
