It’s not every day we cover a fashion editorial around here, but god dammit – it’s Gucci, and for the big G-bang we make an exception. Besides, you can’t tell me you’re not utterly inspired by these exceptional images of everyday Roman homies rocking the OTT, head to toe Gucci lewks? So cool, they literally made me squeal when I saw them!

Dubbed ‘Roman Rhapsody’, the Gucci Cruise 2018 collection was captured by the iconic British photographer Mick Rock, often referred to as ‘The Man Who Shot the Seventies’. Rock is synonymous for his images of musicians from the era, including the likes of David Bowie, Blondie and Queen. Whilst the current campaign does not feature any of these rock legends, the real people in a diverse range of ages and faces look possibly even more compelling, captured in their homes and local neighbourhood parks throughout Rome, Italy. I mean, that dude in the shiny purple suit literally kills me man!

Equally interesting is the Gucci Cruise 2018 campaign video. Seen through videographer Chuck Grant’s point-of-view, the characters take front seat together with the elaborately-detailed and colourful collection.

The cast of people for the campaign was selected by creative director Alessandro Michele, with impeccable art direction by Christopher Simmonds. Ten points from me all round!
