Renowned for their innovative approach to pattern and materiality, Spanish lingerie brand Gisela has opened a new flagship store in Malaga, Spain. The new store concept design by Ciszak Dalmas Ferrari is a mixture of hard and soft elements, combining handmade curtains, irregular partitions and uniquely shaped columns. The interior ultimately pays homage to contemporary femininity, intimacy, delicacy and authenticity. The customer feels surrounded in a harmonious space which integrates a sense of raw beauty. The architecture and garments are in a constant dialogue with each other, telling a cohesive story of heritage and innovation. Five open windows with light backdrops take this dialogue from the inside to the outside. The store is entirely furnished with bespoke pieces, such as the payment desk, stools, tables, props and other visual accessories. The Macael honed finish reveals a purposely worn-in surface, highlighting the properties of this stone referred to as “white gold”.The handmade curtains in the fitting room are produced by overlapping several layers of rose coloured tulle, generating an optical effect of transparency. Vermiculite columns have been treated with plaster delivering an unexpected experience that conveys beauty through a random-looking, natural sensuality.Earthy colours were chosen for the furniture, sitting in contrast to the warm and neutral tones of the ceiling, walls and floors. The whole interior is conceived as a highly tactile experience – a playground for the practice that took this assignment an opportunity to experiment with unique solutions, while seamlessly combining functionality with aesthetics.
