GAN Zoe Kubb Rug by Daria Zinovatnaya, Textile Design | Yellowtrace

A supremacy of colour and shape, Zoe collection by Daria Zinovatnaya for GAN is the first collaboration between the Ukrainian interior designer and Valencia-based rug company.

The series expresses, in the purest way, the importance of shapes and colour for the Ukrainian designer. Her creations flow on a blank canvas in which textures, geometry and colour planes are combined. The resulting compositions, of great visual force, speak to us of her referents and design influences – movements such as Russian supremacism and Bauhaus.

The two rugs are made using different artisan techniques, which render each with their distinctive textures and thicknesses.

Kubbis made by means of laborious hand-knotting, which allows for a great profusion of details and a fluffy and warm finish.

Soolis made using the kilim technique, an ancient method that produces flat and light rugs.
