Set at the Albert II-laan development, this is the third Brussels location for Fosbury & Sons, reimagining an existing office building in line with their slogan of ‘not your ordinary office’.Interior designers Going East collaborated with the Fosbury & Sons design team on a ‘Brazil meets Wall Street’ concept. Large vacant spaces with high ceilings are dotted with winding staircases and feature dark bamboo timber and abundant plants. Cosy seating areas meant to encourage socializing are prioritized throughout. The 1,055sqm ground floor includes an accessible lobby, restaurant and jazz club-inspired bar complete with a grand piano. With a focus on wellness, the design includes a yoga room and an outdoor sanctuary’s in the form of courtyard and roof terraces by Wirtz Landscaping Architects.“Our hybrid office spaces allow employers to meet the specific requirements of each employee: space to work comfortably but still be able to focus, an interactive culture conducive to meeting people and space for rest and relaxation,” says Maarten Van Gool.Located within the SEVEN building in central Brussels, ‘Albert’ is within walking distance of Brussels-North train station, Rogier metro station and the KANAL Centre Pompidou. A renovation by ASSAR Architects saw low-energy measures implemented at the building such as solar panels, LED lighting and an innovative climate control system. The site also meets the requirements of the 2020 European “nearly zero energy” standard for new builds. Fosbury & Sons continued this sustainability consciousness through materials including window frames of sustainable timber and a SAPP (Smart Accoustic Passive Power) system installed for efficient cooling and heating. The group are already planning a fourth Brussels location in the former Actiris building near the Brussels stock exchange, to be executed in collaboration with Axel Vervoordt, Coussée & Goris architecten and VDD Project Development. The first international Fosbury & Sons is also set to open in Amsterdam this month. Related: Going East Design a Smokin’ Co-Working Space in Brussels Inside a Brutalist Icon.
