In Madrid’s iconic Justicia neighbourhood, marked by neoclassical buildings and upscale boutiques, Febrero Studio transformed a heritage listed apartment into a sophisticated residence. The project balances heritage architecture with contemporary design to create a home that’s pushing so many of our design buttons.

The interior features soaring ceilings and majestic wooden doors that provide the perfect backdrop for the owner’s exceptional art collection. Seriously, how great is the art?

The new layout delivers a balance between social and private spaces, with two expansive living areas, an office, three bedrooms with ensuites, and cleverly integrated service areas.

A standout element of the renovation is the addition of a secondary kitchen positioned near the social areas. This intervention enhances the home’s practicality for entertaining while maintaining the classical essence of the space.

“Every detail of the project, from the choice of materials to the arrangement of elements, has been carefully curated to create a unique and elegant ambiance,” says Jesús Díaz Osuna, Partner & Architect at Febrero Studio.

The refined furniture selection is one of the project’s highlights. The interior features a sophisticated mix of antiques, design classics, and exclusive pieces from Febrero Shop Collection, alongside many original pieces belonging to the client. This fusion creates a timeless atmosphere where history and contemporary design complement each other perfectly.

The project is a refined example of how heritage architecture can be respectfully adapted to modern living without sacrificing character. By preserving the building’s architectural legacy while introducing contemporary elements, Febrero Studio has created a home that feels both authentic and modern. It’s a space that’s not just beautiful, but genuinely lived in and loved.
