Hello! I’m Leah – an interior designer and blogger based in Sydney. I am also seriously addicted to wearing brightly coloured pants. Not that it is a serious problem. Yet. I am inspired by traditional craftsmanship and manufacturing, the colour green, unconventional collaborations, the sun, things that are handmade, textures, letterpress print, Designers.MX, and anything from Scandinavia. My latest adventure is The Minimalist Store launching online in mid-April. We aim to bring together the best selection of designer made product the world has to offer. We are on a constant search for the new and unknown and the unique. A new collection and a new designer every 60 days. So come visit often!Shop // See // Follow // Like // Read New Zealand native Phil Cuttance is the creative mind behind the extraordinary Faceture series which consists of handmade faceted vessels, light-shades and a table. Phil produces each object individually by casting a water-based resin into a simple handmade mould. The mould is then manually manipulated to create each object’s form before each casting, making every piece utterly unique. “I like the idea of people knowing where products come from, and what goes into making them. I think a lot of products are now seen as ‘throw – away’ as they are made on a mass scale, in places far away from where they end up, and out of sight. There was time when people commissioned a local maker or craftsman to make an object, which gave it an inherent value. I like that model.” Each piece is handmade, unique, and numbered on the base. You can buy your own piece of Faceture at The Minimalist.–Leah.[Images by Petr Krejci & Phil Cuttance.]Share the love:FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPinterest Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Δ
