Who the hell lives here, I hear you ask? Don’t worry, the elegance of this place makes me feel green with envy also. The owner of this rather fabulous apartment is Emmanuel de Bayser, French-born, Berlin-based co-owner of the super cool The Corner Berlin fashion boutique. Set in a historic 19th century building with 5m high ceilings (*I’m getting greener by the minute here), De Bayser sought to create an interior that could hold his impressive collection of modernist furniture, and also become a place where he could meditate. The result is a calm palate of natural tones in the main living areas with a sublime mix of mid-century and Scandinavian furniture. In the bedroom, the warm timber panelling is offset by the use of colourful art and accessories. In this room in particular, emphasis and definition is given to the impressive high ceilings with the timber panelling stopping half way up the wall. The Corner Berlin, a leading concept boutique which opened in 2006. The store is famous for its slick edit of the latest ready-to-wear fashions for men and women, with labels including Alaïa, Céline, Balenciaga and Lanvin. Just a little bit fabulous all arounds.
