In a welcome twist on the typical tech office aesthetic, Elmo Studios has created something pretty special for Furniture.com’s New York City headquarters. The 370-square-meter space marries the warmth of residential design with the pragmatic needs of a modern tech company.The designers have orchestrated a dance between industrial and domestic elements. Original architectural features, including exposed Doric columns and sprinkler piping, play against custom European aluminium-framed glass partitions. But it’s the residential touches that truly elevate this workplace—oversized table lamps cast a warm glow across workstations, while bespoke pieces like a geometric white oak conference table add sophisticated charm. The public areas shine with showroom-worthy sophistication, featuring a curved sofa (manufactured in collaboration with Furniture.com’s Georgia factory) that embraces a striking black olive tree in the reception area.Nature weaves through the space via sculptural trees, while original artworks from New York’s Amelie Maison D’Art, including pieces by Clement Mancini and Pola Carmen, add cultural depth. The result is a workspace that feels both sophisticated and lived-in, proving that corporate interiors can indeed feel like home.
