All proceeds from the show will benefit Girls, INC NYC, a charity with the goal of inspiring “all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.”“Recently we have been talking about, and re-thinking, what this means and why it is important. In this vein, we had the idea of hosting Designing Women in May. This show will highlight, and bring together, the top female designers operating in NYC. There is such a wealth of talented women in this city – and we think it’s worth celebrating and giving back!” shares Egg Collective.Participating in the show are sixteen female artists and designers including Anna Karlin, Bec Brittain, Dana Barnes, Caroline Ventura of Brvtvs, Deborah Ehrlich, Ensemble Studio, Hiroko Takeda, Julianne Ahn of Object & Totem, Lindsey Adelman, Lisa Hedge and Vanessa Saba of Ensemble Studio NYC, Lora Appleton of Kinder Modern, Maria Moyer, Natalie Herrera of High Gloss, Syrette Lew of Moving Mountains and Yolande Batteau of Callidus Guild.Egg Collective is a New York-based design company established in 2011 by three female designers — Stephanie Beamer, Crystal Ellis, and Hillary Petrie. Pulling from its founders’ backgrounds in architecture, art, and woodworking, the company creates exquisitely engineered furniture and lighting. All of Egg Collective’s work is made in its own wood shop and in collaboration with a community of small-scale fabricators. Part of Egg Collective’s business ethos has always been focused on female empowerment, collaboration, and camaraderie and they wanted the opportunity to showcase that. To highlight and support the community of female designers & makers currently active and thriving in NYC. And to support equality and empowerment of women world-wide. Girls Inc.
