Dvekati-designed Moscow wine bar brings bright vivacious colour and organic shape to the hospitality experience, delivering an irresistibly playful atmosphere. Located in the city’s cultural centre, the bar finds its home within a former office complex. The designers were immediately drawn to the expansive windows, high ceiling, and exposed structural elements that already existed within the space. The subsequent design embraced these features which became the perfect backdrop for an injection of bright colour and playful interpretation of scale.Katya Svanidze of Dvekati says, “As soon as we started designing, the inspiration came from the Black Sea coast. We were inspired by the resort architecture of modernism – terraces of circular shapes soaring over the sea on thin supports in the centre of the metropolis. We wanted to create the atmosphere of a southern recreational area. The design of the terrace is made in the form of a circular platform, which is ’embraced’ by a staircase on a metal frame”. A large red metal stair becomes the hero of the interior, anchoring the collection of textures and colours that surround it. The stair also becomes a shapeshifter, the underside of its curving walls home to the bathroom, while the circular platform on top acts as a seating terrace.Katya Svanidze goes on to say, “We love working with colour and here we used rich, bright, juicy orange-coral, favourably emphasizing the volumes, and emerald delicately complements it.”Highly patterned vivid green armchairs sit alongside neon orange leather chairs and geometric tables. A light coloured tiled wall is momentarily interrupted with bursts of colour – bringing an unexpected element to a highly-layered scheme. Dvekati’s Moscow wine bar speaks with an undeniable sense of joy, as every inch of space brings a smile to visitors’ faces. Related: PR Agency’s Moscow Office by Dvekati. [Images courtesy of Dvekati.
