Melbourne-based furniture brand Dowel Jones has released four new furniture collections. Consisting of stools, side tables, coffee tables, dining tables and pendant lights, the latest release also includes the addition of the Sister Double sofa to Tom Hancock’s Sister Collection.

Longtime collaborator Cricket Saleh shot the new collection within a grand 19th century restored church hall in Fitzroy, the Establishment Studio’s HQ (which we previously featured via this incredible leaf/ plant installation). The collection’s bold coloured panels contrast the stark, whitewashed interior and historic architecture including vaulted arches and column details.

Combining strong lines with a thin tubular steel frame, the Archie stools are minimal with added comfort via a softly carved timber seat. The combined durability and functionality of Archie ensures years of everyday use in both high-traffic seating areas and in private environments.

The Blossom pendant light and coffee table feature an arched base repeated across six separate leaf-shaped panels, forming a conical shape. Made from Polytec Woodmatt Coastal Oak and Bottega Oak, Blossom is also available in various Polytec finishes upon request. Blossom is adaptable to suit a myriad of open spaces such as restaurants, hotels, or work environments, either subtle in soft colour-ways or standing out in bold contrasting materials.

A full round backrest creates a moulded ply shell on the FUN chair, comfortable for short or long-term seating. The frame is available in a multitude of finishes, including chrome or powder coat. The FUN dining chair is stackable, convenient for both commercial and residential interiors.

An extension of the Sir Burly Low and High stools, the Sir Burly table is the latest customizable object from Dowel Jones. Using a wide diameter tube, the tables feature a single bent section with an overlapping join, meaning their size is customizable. The tables are available with both solid timber tops and Polytec compact laminate tops.

The Rondure side table is a minimal piece consisting of two circular pieces of timber separated by a single round stem, with a decorative sphere in metallic or matte finish resting at its base.

All four collections were launched at Open For Business, a one-day-only event as part of Saturday Indesign in collaboration with Ownworld and Polytec.
