It’s quite extraordinary how much the world has changed in such a short space of time. Despite the fact most of us are facing significant challenges during this time, for me, one of the most wonderful things to come out of COVID-19 pandemic is the resilience of people and the power of the human spirit.Enter ‘A Social Distance’. This glorious, uplifting crowd-sourced short film features residents of the countries most impacted by COVID-19, who have come together to document their life during the lockdown. American filmmaker Ivan Cash and Jacob Jonas collective have enlisted the help of people hailing from more than 30 countries. The result reveals a breadth of perspectives, “from a 93-year old Malayan grandmother to a 19-year old Slovenian man”, accompanied by a truly beautiful original score that was remotely performed by musicians from around the world.This joy spreading and hope inducing little movie is totally worth a minute and a half of your time.
