Isn’t it incredible how some interiors just ooze that irresistible and effortless glamour, you know the kind of place that makes you wish you wore your better dress, that your hair wasn’t so flat and that you at least wore eye liner. But maybe that’s just me. Anyway, what I was trying to say is that this place reeks awesomeness.

3 Rooms is a trio of self-contained modern apartments in a traditional Parisian 17th century building. And here’s why this place is so chic – it is owned and decorated by fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa. Well… then… say no more, right? Each apartment is a generous 100sqm and has a private entrance. Furnishing style is a little off-beat creating a true feel of home away from home – you know that style that so many other hotels pretend to have but so very few actually manage to pull it off. These interiors are a study in understated perfection, with white walls, flattering lighting, and furnishings by Alaïa’s favourite designers including Jean Prouvé, Marc Newson, Arne Jacobsen, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Paulin and André Sornay. Talk about design pedigree.

Now if all this isn’t enough to make you want to stay there, perhaps this might seal the deal for you – the hotel is located at Rue de Moussy, a small street in the super cool Marais district where some of the city’s best sights, bars, cafes and restaurants can be found. And not only that – the hotel is contained in a complex which also houses Alaïa’s boutique, atelier, showroom, warehouse and private dwelling. Breakfast is served from Alaïa’s own kitchen and depending on which apartment you live in, you might even get a glimpse of the man at work in his atelier next door. An amazing chance to eavesdrop on Alaïa’s world, no? Sign me up.
