Kirsty Mitchell is a talented photographer and creator who once again immerses us into her extraordinary ‘storybook without words’. You may recall this post about Kirsty’s hauntingly beautiful Wonderland series dedicated to her late mother. The story itself is really something, not to mention the spectacular images, dreamy sets and elaborate costumes made by hand over many, many hours. Today’s post is dedicated to “Gaia, The Birth of An End “; the first of ten portraits that will make up the final chapter of Mitchell’s Wonderland series.

Gaia’s portrait depicts her transition from mortal to a true goddess form. As Kirsty explains, “this picture represents her incarnation, (birth) surrounded by an explosion of vibrating, shimmering energy. Her character affects everything – as she changes so to will the landscape, creating a butterfly effect that sets in motion the end of the story.” The wonderful behind-the-scenes footage of the creation of ‘Gaia’ was filmed and edited by fxmedia.co.uk.
