These incredible postcard portraits of George Washington, Mao, Queen Elizabeth, Abraham Lincoln and Lenin are the work of Malaysian-born Denmark-based artist Amir Zainorin. Zainorin uses free postcards collected from cafes, restaurants and galleries, and pins them on walls to create visually arresting images.

Some of the postcards are deliberately left on the floor with the intention of “giving the work a mortality or temporary status in which it occupies the space for only a period of time, just like a system, an empire or a person (Washington, Mao, the Queen, etc). After some time these faces are only remembered in history books, on paper currencies, stamps or postcards.”
