What could possess a regular bloke to wear a pink tutu? A practical joke? A lost bet? Well, actually, none of the above.Bob Carey is his name. He is a photographer from New York, who’s wife, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. Bob started taking photos of himself in the pink tutu as a coping mechanism, but also as a way of raising breast cancer awareness. The Tutu Project was born, and Bob started selling prints and raising money for his recently released self-published book “Ballerina.” “Oddly enough, her cancer has taught us that life is good, dealing with it can be hard, and sometimes the very best thing—no, the only thing—we can do to face another day is to laugh at ourselves, and share a laugh with others.” – Bob Carey. So you see, the reason Bob wears a pink tutu is the same reason many of us would do all manner of wonderful, inspiring and silly things. Love. And the eternal romantic in me is positively in love with this beautiful story. [For more information, visit The Tutu Project.
