Armadillo Chair by Baltasar Portillo.

Here I go again with my mild obsession with thin black lines and geometry. Forgive me, I really can’t help myself at times you know – these two chairs are just a perfect examples of both… Designed by Salvadorian self taught artist Baltasar Portillo, Armadillo and Lodge chairs are more of a sculptural art piece than traditional pieces of furniture. Suitable for both outdoors or in, the chairs are made from powder coated wrought iron. You can pick up your very own Armadillo (above), produced in a limited edition of 3, for a cool 2,125€. On the other hand, Lodge Chair (below) was produced as a unique piece of art with only one available at 2,750€.

I spotted both of these chairs over on Outdoorz Gallery website, run by Deborah Sommers & Beth Boutry in Paris. The gallery carries a collection of bold and creative pieces from an assembly of award winning international designers. Their selection includes limited editions, made to order and artisan productions for both private and public spaces delivered to you directly from the designer’s studio.

“In a world of mass production,  we believe there is a place for, even a need for, design that stays in the hand of the creator.  Whether using the latest 3d technology, or translating traditional craft into contemporary style, our designers use a hands on approach.” – Outdoorz Gallery
