Paris based arhictect Joseph Dirand is so damn cool that he doesn’t even need an ‘about’ page. Cause if you don’t know who he is, simply don’t bother. Clearly.Seriously though, I have been a pretty huge fan of his work for a while now. I must admit – I don’t normally think much of designers with ‘consistent signature style’ which become quite predictable at times. Having said this, I can’t seem to get enough of Mr Dirand’s chic interiors with a monochromatic palette, and (very) occasional accents of silver and gold. You can see a few fine examples of his residential work below, and above are his retail and hotel projects such as fashion boutique for Balmain in Paris, and Habita Monterrey and Distrito Capital, which are sister hotels in Mexico.Dirand’s signature black & white schemes come to life when mixed with timber, marble, pearl, mirror and black metal. Oh, ok, and concrete. But that’s it. And lets not even talk about his superb attention to detailing and an eye for exquisite proportions. Ah, his work is so painfully stylish, it kinda makes me feel sick.Jealous much?Who – ME?Nah. Never.*Walks away green with envy and slams the door behind her.* [Images via Joseph Dirand’s website.
