Interesting residential renovation in Montrouge, France by Emmanuel Combarel Dominique Marrec, where the bedroom is housed in a suspended floating cube which sits in the middle of the 50sqm apartment. The cube, the floor, the walls and the ceiling are all painted with white polyurethane resin. Crisp, clever, simple and beautiful. On another note, did you notice that these shots weren’t all taken on the same day – the furniture, the camera style and the light quality are all different. And the bookshelf contents too. I know, amazing observation skills – I should have been a detective. My talent is wasted!Yes, as you can see, I am struggling with intelligent things to say today. Let’s try again tomorrow, shall we? Meet you at the same time and place. Great. Ok, bye. I love this bedroom – it’s just like a cubby house, and something I would have designed for a uni project… Reply melissah March 15, 2011 This is fantastic! what a great way to utilise a small space. Thanks for sharing, this one is going into my file of ideas for a future home. Reply solovely March 15, 2011 we have beautiful things in France!! ;^) bonne journée ,from France Reply Oliver @ Sabi Style March 15, 2011 Well Sherlock I confess I am enthralled by the concept of the suspended box bedroom.I find it really interesting that the bedroom space seems so warm and snug yet the rest of the space seems so stark and cold. It’s like a balance of opposites. Reply Cherry March 16, 2011 Fun structure. Lacking in privacy though (when you have house guests).I used to have a same but different in the form of a loft bedroom above my bathroom. There was no door or blind, but the key was that it was above eyelevel of anyone I had crashing over.
