I know I said that I was done with my Milan report… but the thing is – I lied! Well I thought I was done, but then I got a hold of these stunning press images of the magical installation by Paola Navone for Barovier&Toso and I simply had to share. Besides, this was one of my favourite installations in Milan, so all the more reason to post about it.BLU installation was located at The Temporary Museum for New Design, at Superstudio Più on Zona Tortona. Paola Navone interpreted Barovier&Toso glass with a secnographic installation in a large dark area, which was lit by a series of magical creations and custom built lamps in various shades of blue – pure blue, Dutch blue, cobalt blue and aquamarine. The installation was organised in islands designed to provide visitors with a moment of relaxation and contemplation – large comfortable sofas and day beds allowed viewers to take a break and enjoy all the elements of significant visual impact. A luminous meadow was created using macroscopic glass threats lit by LEDs which signaled the route, while the walls and floors were constructed from “poor” materials from Murano: course timbers and rusty iron.Murano glass never looked this good. At least not for me.Share the love:FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPinterest 9 Responses Cristina May 28, 2010 Well I’m glad that you decided to post this – as you said, it’s magical.
